Radio personality Brian Demay has officially signed on with Lite Rock 105 as our new afternoon host and Program Director (meaning he will help select the music, events, contests and overall direction of the station).
A radio personality for more than twenty years, Brian was most recently featured on-air in Buffalo and Delaware.
When LiteRock105FM.com caught up with Demay, he joked, "I like a small state and Delaware wasn't quite small enough - so Rhode Island, here we come! All kidding aside, I am truly honored to be a part of this incredible radio station and really look forward to connecting with our community and listeners."
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am the proud father of two rambunctious children and a pointer puppy named Rudy. My son is 12 and very much into video games and scouting. My daughter is 9, and plans to be president when she grows up. (I believe her!) My wife and I enjoy hiking, wine tasting, and feel most at home by the ocean.
I took my first family vacation to New England when I was a kid and loved it. I had fresh clam chowder on the beach and vowed to return someday. It took me a couple of decades, but here I am! I can’t wait to spend some time in Newport, hit the beaches, have some great seafood, and take in a Sox game. Or two. Or twelve.
Favorite musicians?
I have been a Beatles fan all my life – I got that from my parents. I also love the Dave Matthews Band, Sara Bareilles, the Goo Goo Dolls, and many more. You’d be surprised how eclectic my music library is.
What is the best concert you’ve ever been to?
That is a tough one, because I’ve seen some great ones, but the Goo Goo Dolls in Buffalo was a very memorable show. You give a little something extra when you’re playing your hometown.
What can listeners expect from your show?
I talk about my family quite a bit. My children are an endless source of amusement for me, and kids do say the darndest things! I love music, so expect to hear some interesting stories about your favorite Lite Rock artists that you may not have heard before. And I believe in living healthy, so I tend to share some of the tips I have picked up along the way. We’ll have a lot of fun together!
